In this session, participants will delve into the exciting world of entrepreneurship and learn the fundamentals of establishing a lemonade stand through Lemonade Day. 2. HELPING LEARNERS UNDERSTAND HOW TO PAY FOR COLLEGE

  • Date and Time: Friday, April 28 from 6-6:55 pm ET
  • Description: Geared toward high school students looking to learn more about financial aid, scholarships, and resources to make college more affordable, this session will provide valuable insights into navigating the complex college payment process. Topics covered include different types of financial aid, such as grants, loans, and work-study programs. This session is designed for high school students planning to attend a US college in the near future who want to make informed financial decisions. Suitable for ages 13+.

3. RYAN’S RECYCLING, BUILDING A BUSINESS TO SAVE THE PLANET

  • Date and Time: Saturday, April 29 from 12-12:50 pm ET
  • Description: Young learners passionate about making a positive impact on the environment while creating a business should not miss this keynote address featuring Ryan Hickman, the creator of RyansRecycling.com. Ryan will share his inspiring story of transforming a simple idea into a global movement. Attendees will have the opportunity to ask him questions directly. This event aims to empower young learners to take action and make a difference in their communities for a sustainable future. Ideal for ages 9+.

4. I AM A MOGUL, MY FIRST BUSINESS PLAN

  • Date and Time: Saturday, April 29 from 3-3:55 pm ET
  • Description: Raising a Mogul provides tools to learners who aspire to be seen, heard, and compensated while making a positive impact through entrepreneurship. During this program, participants will learn the essential steps to kickstart their own business. The session, led by Tamara Zantell, the founder of Raising a Mogul, will cover finding your target audience, creating a business model, developing a unique value proposition, and preparing a business pitch. By the end of the program, participants will have a brief one-pager filled with ideas and insights to become budding business superstars. Suitable for ages 9+.

5. ELEVATOR PITCH

  • Date and Time: Saturday, April 29 from 6-7:20 pm ET
  • Description: This session introduces the concept of an elevator pitch—a concise presentation to inspire potential investors in a short span of time, up to 2 minutes. It’s similar to Shark Tank for Outschoolers who have submitted video applications to present their business, product, or service ideas to the Learner Community. Ten finalists will pitch their ideas to a panel of business professionals and financial experts for a chance to win over $500 in funding and prizes. This session provides an excellent opportunity to observe kids pitching their business ideas and vote for favorites via Kahoot. Best suited for ages 9+.
