Aladdin: The Musical Arrives at DC’s National Theatre from April 19th to 30th

Must read

In the spring, Disney on Broadway extended an invitation to my family to attend either The Lion King or Aladdin the Musical in New York City. Both shows had garnered glowing reviews, and I found myself in a dilemma, unable to choose between them. In the end, I entrusted the decision to my theater-loving teenage daughter.

She deliberated for a few days, poring over clips from both productions on YouTube, torn between the extravagant sets of The Lion King and the enchanting costumes and melodies of Aladdin. Ultimately, she settled on Aladdin, and our experience at the show was nothing short of spectacular!

Now, I am thrilled to share that Aladdin is making its way to Washington, D.C.’s National Theater from April 19 to 30, and I couldn’t be more excited to relive this high-energy performance.

About Aladdin:
Whether you’re a fan of the live-action Aladdin movie or have fond memories of the 1992 animated classic featuring Robin Williams as the voice of the Genie, the touring production of Aladdin is sure to captivate your heart.

From the producer of The Lion King comes a timeless tale of Aladdin, a production brimming with unforgettable beauty, magic, humor, and breathtaking spectacle. It’s an extraordinary theatrical experience where a single lamp and three wishes unlock boundless possibilities.

You’ll find yourself wholeheartedly rooting for Aladdin, the endearing street urchin who endeavors to thwart Jafar’s plot to seize the kingdom while falling in love with Jasmine.

The Genie is as witty and enchanting on stage as you’d expect, and don’t be surprised if you can’t resist singing along to the familiar and catchy tunes. The choreography, costumes, and sets are nothing short of dazzling.

This performance is recommended for ages 6 and up, with a runtime of approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes, including one intermission.
