Catch Hadestown at DC’s National Theatre from June 6th to 18th

Must read

Hadestown is scheduled to make its appearance at the National Theater in Washington, D.C. from June 6th to June 18th, serving as the grand finale of the 2022-2023 season. This acclaimed musical, a recipient of both Tony and Grammy awards, is the creation of Anaïs Mitchell and beautifully narrates the ancient Greek myth of Orpheus and Eurydice. The production artfully weaves together two mythical tales, one centered on the young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice and the other on King Hades and his wife Persephone.

ABOUT HADESTOWN
In Hadestown, the power of song holds the key to altering one’s destiny. The story unfolds with Eurydice, a young woman in search of sustenance, who finds herself laboring in a nightmarish, industrial rendition of the Greek underworld to escape poverty and the cold. Her lover, Orpheus, a struggling singer-songwriter, embarks on a daring mission to rescue her.

The audience is invited on an unforgettable odyssey to the depths of the underworld and back. Executed by a dynamic ensemble of actors, singers, and dancers, Hadestown encourages viewers to contemplate a world where possibilities are limitless.

Hadestown is suitable for children aged 8 and older. The performance has a duration of approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes, including a 20-minute intermission. Please be aware that the show incorporates strobe-like effects throughout.
